To my fellow Bloggers:I call a truce.
No, I beg a truce.
You see, Lucy and I have got it bad. We started this trip to Hollywood six months ago and along the way, have made some friends out in the blogosphere, on facebook and twitter. And every time we find another blog we love, it gets added to our reading list. (Technorati estimates there are 12 million blogs. Twelve Million!)
I know there are many Real Bloggers out there, those who somehow find the time to write their own great blogs, read other blogs and leave cool comments on said blogs -- and they find time to do this EVERY day.
Maybe I'm jealous or maybe I'm not committed enough. I certainly know I'm not a Real Blogger.
But would it be too much to consider this modest proposal: I propose that that you/we/they/them/the Real Bloggers post every other day to give the rest of the slackers, I mean, bloggers (read: me) time to catch up. This is a movement in Blog Conservation. A way to reduce, before you reuse and recycle. Saving for a rainy day.
You see, you probably wrote something really awesome three days ago, but since it's now at the bottom of your posts, I may not see it. Ever. What a waste that is. You may have poured your heart and soul into a funny anecdote about your kid streaking at the grocery store. Or maybe you spent hours perfecting a story about about something stupid your mother-in-law said about your housekeeping abilities. I didn't mean to miss it. But I did. Sorry.
And it's not that I don't want to write more. I do, I really do. For example, I wanted to write something hilarious about my son's last-minute decision to change his costume as we were walking out the door to go trick-or-treating last night, but that's all I could come up with. That, and the cute detail that my Little Firefighter-turned-Turtle told every homeowner that he was allergic to peanuts so could he please have something besides a peanut butter cup no matter how many times I told him just to take it and say thank you. You see I couldn't carve an entire post out of just that.
So come on, please consider slowing down a bit. Not stopping. Hell-to-the-NO. That would just be nuts. That's not what I'm saying at all. But come on, hook a blogger up, ok? Just gimme a chance to get caught up. (Please ignore the fact that the time I spent begging you to ease up a bit could have been spent catching up on, what, six blogs.)
Thanks. And we now return to our regularly scheduled programming.
:-)

I'm usually good for two posts a week, unless that muse bitch of mine goes all ass-kicking on me about something.
Twelve million blogs? Really? Really, really? I am so fucked. I mean behind. No, I mean fucked.
K
I'm a 3x weekly blogger myself, with an occasional post on Saturdays. That's enough for me.
Not only 12 million but apparently 50K new blogs are started per DAY.
Love your proposal. :)
You guys/gals are all Real Bloggers. I know the pressure/guilt is self-imposed, but sometimes it is overwhelming to keep up. Having a support group of 50 million helps, I suppose.
OMG I don't think I could ever post everyday...So I am already in the slack...slow down lane (-:
I'm usually a two times a week girl. It just happens that way. Either that or Inspiration takes pity on my family so they can eat once in a while (-:

Thanks Mrsblogalot. That totally makes me feel better. It's not just the posting, it's the visiting, and the commenting, and the follow-up-ing.
I love the way you write. Yes, it is challenging to keep up with all of it. Maybe we should have a freeze on more than three blogs a week, ya' think? hahahahaha.
Now you're really gonna' appreciate what I say next.
I wanted to tell you about a $75 prize being given away. Be sure to head over and read all about it. Hurry 'cause we only have until the 6th of November to enter. Hurry, hurry!

First, y'all are selling yourselves WAY short by not including 4J among the REAL bloggers.
Second, I don't think I'm alone in valuing quality over quantity. You just keep on keeping on and trust me, we'll wait.
Thanks Yaya. I appreciate that and will check out the prize give-away.
I'm really not grubbing for compliments ... but I appreciate them!
Ed, I agree. My frustration is that I *want* to write more ... and I especially want to read more but get overwhelmed by the sheer volume that's out there and worth reading.
Here's to keeping on...
Hi Jane,
I so glad to know where I can come and visit you. I love your comments and I, like you, am so frustrated by the fact that there are not 10,000 hours in the day for reading all the wonderful posts. Who limited us to only 24 hours, anyway?
Oh, and I just came over to borrow a cup of virtual sugar so I could bake some virtual cookies. Got any? ~ Yaya

-->I struggle to post three times a week. There is no way I would be able to post everyday. I agree with an earlier comment, quality over quantity is way better!

Hallelujah and Amen.
One of these days--real soon--I'm going from two down to one post per week.
Love this post!
